Clearing Accounts

FRAGMENT helps engineering and finance teams account for transactions before they're fully settled by a bank or payment processor.

Many transactions pass through a period where they've been recorded in your system but not yet confirmed externally. For example, an ACH deposit may be recorded days before it actually settles. Accounting for this unsettled state is where bugs often appear.

A clearing account temporarily holds a balance during that period. If settlement matches the original record, the clearing account nets to zero. If it doesn't, the remaining balance shows what hasn't reconciled yet.

In most systems these transactions are grouped together and reconciled later in spreadsheets. With FRAGMENT, each invoice or transaction can have its own clearing account, and unresolved balances can be surfaced automatically from the ledger.

Stop reconciling in spreadsheets. Start programming your money.
